Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the Iron Ridge La Verne Concrete website and the concrete work we do for you. By using this site, asking for an estimate or booking a job with us, you agree to them.
If you don't agree, please don't use the site. You can still call us at (840) 588-1377 with questions before you decide anything.
When we sign a written estimate or contract with you for a specific job, that document controls if it says something different from this page.
What we do
Iron Ridge La Verne Concrete is a concrete contractor in La Verne, CA. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, pool decks, garage floors, footings, slab foundations and retaining walls, and we do decorative and stamped work, concrete cutting and foundation raising. You'll find the full list on our home page.
We're based in La Verne and work in the cities around it. The cities with their own page on this site aren't the only places we go, so ask if you don't see yours.
What we write on this site about concrete work is general information to help you understand the job. It isn't advice about your property, and it isn't a promise about your job until we've seen your site and put the scope in writing.
Estimates and pricing
Our estimates are free and done in person, because we can't price a slab without seeing the ground it sits on, how the water runs and how we'll get equipment in. There's no pressure to book once you have it.
An estimate is based on what we can see on the day we come out. The things that usually move the price are the size and thickness of the slab, how much old concrete has to come out, how much digging and base work the subgrade needs, which is the soil and packed gravel the slab sits on, access for the truck, and any finish beyond a plain broom finish.
If we open up the job and find something nobody could see at the estimate, like buried debris, soft soil or old concrete under the dirt, we'll stop, show you and explain what it changes. We won't do extra work that costs you more without your okay first.
Prices on an estimate hold for the time written on it. After that, material and labor costs may have changed, so we may need to update it.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We set your start date when you book, and we'll tell you how long you'll be off the driveway or patio while the concrete cures, which is the waiting time it needs to gain strength before it can take weight. Walking on it or driving on it too early is one of the most common ways a new slab gets damaged, so please follow the dates we give you.
Weather, material delivery and inspections can push a pour back. We won't pour in conditions that would leave you with a weak or dusty surface, so if we reschedule for weather, it's to protect your slab, and we'll give you the next open date as soon as we can.
If you need to cancel or move your date, call us as early as you can. Any cancellation terms in your written contract apply, along with any right to cancel that the law gives you. Once forms are set or concrete is ordered, costs already spent on your job may be owed.
Payment
Your written estimate or contract sets out what you owe, when each payment is due and how you can pay. We don't ask for anything that isn't written there.
Final payment is due when the work in your contract is done, even though the concrete keeps curing for some time after we leave. If a payment is late, we'll talk with you first, and we may pause remaining work until it's settled.
Our work and what concrete can and can't promise
We're fully licensed and insured, and we stand behind our work. If something about the job isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it.
Concrete can crack even when it's poured right. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line instead of across the middle, and we dig out and pack the base so the slab doesn't settle with the dirt. Those steps cut down on cracking, but they can't rule out every hairline crack.
Any written warranty for your job is the one in your contract, and it covers what it says there. Outside of that, and to the extent the law allows, we don't make other promises about how concrete will look or perform over time.
Some things are outside our control and outside any warranty. These include tree roots, ground movement and earthquakes, water from drains or sprinklers we didn't install, de-icing or harsh cleaning products, loads heavier than the slab was built for, and use before the cure dates we gave you. Small differences in color and texture between pours are normal for concrete, especially next to older slabs.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Iron Ridge La Verne Concrete isn't responsible for indirect or consequential losses tied to our work or this website, such as lost use of your property or lost income.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing on this page limits any right you have that the law doesn't let a contractor take away.
Using this website
The text, photos and design on this site belong to Iron Ridge La Verne Concrete. You're welcome to read and share our pages, but please don't copy them for another business.
We try to keep the site accurate and up to date, but it's offered as it is, and we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Links to other websites are there for your convenience, and we aren't responsible for what those sites say.
If we disagree
Call us first. Most problems get sorted out quickly when we come back out and look at the slab together, and we'd much rather fix something than argue about it.
If we can't work it out between us, either of us may ask for mediation before going to court. Any lawsuit about our work or this site will be handled in the courts of Los Angeles County, California, unless the law requires a different place.
California law applies
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page from time to time. Changes apply from the day we post them, and they don't change a contract you've already signed with us.
If you keep using the site after a change, that means you accept the updated terms.
